Boating at Towoon Bay 1950's
Max Dupain (1911 – 1992) is regarded as one of Australia’s greatest photographers. The simplicity and directness of his work created images that had a sharp focus, a certain boldness and a strong graphic composition. The repertoire includes landscapes, seascapes, industrial, nudes, still life, architecture and portraits.
Some examples of his famous works are: “Sunbaker”, “Meat Queue”, “At Newport” and “At Bondi”. Often these are spontaneous photographs of unaware Australians pursuing their daily tasks or at leisure.
These photographs have been released from Max Dupain’s estate by his daughter. They have been printed by Max Dupain from his original negatives. There is often only one print available.
